Wilson Rojas Marin

For over three decades, Wilson Rojas has demonstrated remarkable passion and talent in the tourism industry.

His journey in Costa Rican tourism began even before the country gained international recognition as a top travel destination. In the early 1990s, he started his career as a horseback riding tour guide and quickly developed a desire to deepen his knowledge and earn credentials in this beautiful profession. That passion took him to Costa Rica's Pacific coast, where he gained hands-on experience working in various restaurants and lodging establishments, learning firsthand what it takes to provide exceptional service.

Wilson later completed his formal education in the capital city, San José, and in 2020, he earned his official certification as a professional tour guide.

A lifelong learner, Wilson continues to take courses and attend seminars—particularly on natural history—to stay current with Costa Rica's rich biodiversity and cultural heritage.

His many experiences have shaped a guiding principle: to ensure every detail is thoughtfully taken care of for the travelers in his care.

An expert wildlife spotter, a personal concierge, and a true ambassador of Costa Rica, Wilson is always seeking new trails and experiences to make each journey unique and enjoyable. His guiding approach is simple: where there's a will, there's a way.

Wilson is the proud father of Leonardo and the husband of Elsy, his life and business partner of over 17 years. He is based in La Fortuna, one of Costa Rica's top travel destinations.

Elsy Bonilla

Elsy earned a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources from the National University of Costa Rica. She spent several years in the private sector, working in the coffee trade, before founding Coati Tours in 2009. In recent years, she has been responsible for direct bookings, tour inspections, sales, and marketing at Coati Tours. During this time, she has embraced principles of rural community tourism, accessible tourism, and sociocultural management, building a strong network with small, family-run tourism businesses across the country over the past two decades.

Elsy firmly believes that bringing communities together is essential to making Costa Rican tourism sustainable for the enjoyment of all in the years to come. She takes great pride in assisting travelers directly and using her expertise to ensure visitors to Costa Rica have a memorable experience. She continually challenges herself by attending seminars, workshops, and cultural events—both in person and virtually—to stay current and expand her skills. All of this she has done while raising her son, who is now a young man and beginning to join the team as well.

Elsy was born in El Salvador and immigrated to Costa Rica with her parents at the age of five. She has always worked hard to support her family and still enjoys family gatherings, trips to the beach and mountains, and volunteering in her local community. She has called Costa Rica home for decades and especially loves traditional Costa Rican dancing and local festivals.
